‘Love yourself’ post, argument with Delhi man: What happened before Miss Pretty India winner Nidhi Tiwari’s death

BHOPAL: Nidhi Tiwari, a 30-year-old social media influencer, allegedly died by suicide at her home in Bhusa Mod area of Singrauli district on Sunday morning. Tiwari, who had a large following on social media, was found hanging inside a room, police said.According to Morwa police, Tiwari had shared a post on Facebook shortly before her death. The post ended with the words, “Love yourself”. Her mother, Lata Tiwari, told police that Nidhi had an argument on the phone with a Delhi-based man, Sonu Singh, around 8pm on Saturday.

After the conversation, she shared the post and locked herself in her room.Family members knocked on her door between 9pm and 10pm, but she refused to eat and asked them to leave her alone. They later went to sleep.On Sunday morning, when the door did not open for a long time, the family informed police. A police team reached the house and found Nidhi hanging inside the room after looking through a window.SP Siyaz K M said Nidhi’s call details were being analysed as part of the further probe.Tiwari had around 9.28 lakh followers on Facebook and 7.12 lakh on Instagram.

She regularly posted dance reels and participated in local events and beauty contests.She had won the ‘Miss Pretty India’ title in 2024 and aspired to work in films. Originally from Varanasi, Tiwari lived in Bhusa Mod with her mother and younger sister.Locked herself in: After the conversation with the Delhi man, Nidhi reportedly went into her room, locked the door and asked family members to leave her alone.Last night at home: When relatives knocked between 9 pm and 10 pm, she reportedly refused food and did not open the door.Door stayed shut: On Sunday morning, the family alerted police after Nidhi did not respond or open the room for a long time.Police probe underway: SP Siyaz K M said Nidhi’s call details are being analysed as investigators examine the circumstances surrounding her death.‘
