Police arrest man, 34, over hidden cameras found in Hong Kong gym changing rooms

Hong Kong police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the installation of three suspected pinhole cameras found in changing rooms at a gym in Sha Tin.
The arrest on Sunday came a day after police launched an investigation into a suspected voyeurism case at the 24/7 Fitness branch on Lek Yuen Street.
A police spokesman said officers arrested the suspect, a local man, in Sha Tin and he remained in custody as investigations continued.

Officers were alerted on Friday after a suspected pinhole camera was found attached with black tape to the false ceiling of a changing room in the fitness centre.
A search uncovered three suspected pinhole cameras in total in three separate changing rooms in the branch.
The case came to light after a male gym member posted a video online saying he had noticed an unusually wide seam in the false ceiling.
According to the video, the man lifted a ceiling panel and found what appeared to be a pinhole camera secured with black tape. He said the discovery was immediately reported to police.
Police said a Sha Tin district investigation team was handling the case.
Voyeurism carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment under Hong Kong law.
