si.com$si.comThe Indian Air Force’s success during Operation Sindoor showed the world its “destructive power” and air defence capabilities, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh said on Thursday, recalling the military conflict with Pakistan as the force marked its 94th Air Force Day at Hindon air base. Addressing the celebrations, the IAF chief said the entire world saw “firsthand the destructive power” of the country’s air force as well as its “air defence operations” during the conflict.
He said the phrase “infallible, impervious and precise” was not merely a tagline but a manifestation of the IAF’s strength and resolve. Singh said the IAF had demonstrated the “speed of combat operations” during Operation Sindoor and reiterated that the force remained “alert, committed and ready” to meet any challenge. “Our operational capabilities are growing in the right direction,” he said, adding that the IAF would leave no stone unturned to meet and exceed expectations. The IAF chief described the force as an “exceptional, capable, network-centric and multi-domain force” that has, over 94 years, grown into one of the finest in the world.
He also paid tribute to air warriors who laid down their lives for the nation and said recent conflicts around the world had highlighted the importance of air power in protecting a country's interests. With his superannuation due on October 31, Singh described serving as the IAF chief as “my biggest fortune” and said it was a proud moment for him. The 94th Air Force Day celebrations featured a ceremonial parade and a display of the IAF’s key combat assets.
Singh arrived at the parade venue in a 1960s-era vintage car, as three helicopters flew past in a ‘Dhwaj’ formation. The tarmac featured static displays of fighter jets including the Rafale, Su-30 MKI and Jaguar, along with helicopters such as the LCH Prachand and ALH Dhruv, as well as critical weapon and air defence systems. The three service chiefs, senior military officials and several former IAF chiefs attended the event.- Ends
