INDIA Bloc MPs Plan Flash Protest at Jantar Mantar Amid Heavy Police Presence in Delhi

Opposition leaders staged a flash protest and marched towards Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The demonstration included prominent leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, Karti Chidambaram, K. C. Venugopal, and Derek O'Brien, alongside members from youth outfits including the NSUI. Protesters alleged that constitutional integrity and democracy were being compromised, reiterating calls for accountability despite heavy police barricading along Janpath Road and the deployment of Rapid Action Force vehicles.

Protesting leaders carried posters and national flags as buses and private vehicles moved toward the designated protest site following meetings held earlier in the day. The gathering witnessed united participation across regional parties, highlighting sustained demands for the removal of the election commissioner despite warnings of detentions by law enforcement authorities in the national capital.
