The new OriginOS 7 comes with a visually refreshing user interface. It has Origin Smooth Engine, Fluid Motion and Spring Animation to offer greater responsiveness and natural movement across the system.

The Fluid Motion feature introduces liquid glass-like dynamic behaviours across more than 200 scenarios, while Spring Animation responds naturally to the pace and direction of user input across system components, apps and in-page elements.

It also comes with Dynamic Glow to offer responsive lighting effects that follow user interactions in real time.

Android 17-based OriginOS 7 announced at Vivo NEXT 2026 event in Gurugram, India.

The Dynamic Translucent Material feature makes the phone's UI adapt to its background to create a translucent, layered effect, with three interface styles: Realistic, Natural and Soft.

The Wiggle Theme brings movement-responsive effects to wallpapers, while Pet Pals Theme introduces interactive companions that respond to user interactions. Glint Theme15 creates shifting iridescence, glitter, patterns and light effects as the viewing angle changes.

OriginOS 7 also brings Office Kit, which enables cross-device camera sharing, notes, task handoff, file transfer and cross-system file access.

It also comeswith Camera Sharing. With this, a compatible vivo smartphone can be used as a camera for video calls. Also, it brings the Shake & Share feature. With this, users have to select files/photos and then bring two compatible phones near each other, shake them with their wrists, and this triggers the transfer of files/photos from one phone to another. It doesn't require any mobile data at all.

OriginOS 7 introduces new generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI)-based productivity tools such as AI Recorder. It offers speaker recognition, transcript outlines, transcript refinement and smart summaries, with dedicated templates for meetings, lectures and interviews.

With Smart Call Assistant, the phone will automatically answer and seek information on the reason for the call and offer transcripts. Based on this, the user can choose to answer or reject it.

And, the new update also brings Jovi6, Vivo’s AI agent designed to understand user intent and help turn it into action. Jovi is capable of finding information from reliable sources, reading and extracting content from PDF files, supporting scheduled tasks and proactively delivering relevant results.

List of devices eligible for Android 17-based OriginOS 7

October 2026

Android 17-based OriginOS 7 is slated to be released to X Fold5, X300 Ultra, X300 Pro, X300, and X300 FE by the end of this month.

November 2026

Vivo plans to release OriginOS 7 to X200 Pro, X200, X200 FE and X200T around mid-November in India.

December 2026

Vivo also confirmed to roll out Android 17 to X Fold3 Pro, X100 Pro and X100. Even V70 Elite, V70, V70 FE, V60 and V60E will get OriginOS 7 by mid-December 2026.

And V50 and V50e will get the update by the end of December 2026.

January 2027

The new OriginOS 7 is slated to be released to V40 Pro, V40, Vivo S2, S2 FE, Vivo T5 Pro 5G, T5 5G, T5x 5G, T4 Ultra, T4 Pro, T4 5G, T4R 5G, T3 Ultra and Y51 Pro 5G.

Vivo has announced to release the Android 17-based OriginOS 7 to the V40e, V30 Pro, V30, V30e, Vivo Y400 Pro 5G, Y400 5G, Y31 Pro 5G and Vivo T4x 5G by the end of February 2027.
